How to help someone who is taking drugs?
Generally, those who have next to a loved one who uses drugs is well prepared to help overcome addiction. Almost always, however, for lack of specific knowledge, does not know how. Do not know the drug and its efforts to feel better or to help addicts free themselves from drugs, most often not successful. Consequently, the desire to help and hope fade. The problem seems insoluble and even the best intentions often become a failure. The author humanitarian L. Ron Hubbard, defines "failure" as the inability to control and bring to fruition what was begun, after starting to perform them. For example, take a brother who decides to help his drug-addicted sister. Talk to her, asked her to stop, he promises that he will do anything to help recreate a life. Her sister agrees and promises that will not use more drugs. He believes and feels good to be able to help her overcome the problem. The next night, she does not fall within the agreed time at home. You do not even live through the night. When he returns home the next morning, his brother understands - from how it moves and behaves - she has used drugs just by looking into his face. He gets angry and his failure in helping his sister grieves over the infidelity of his sister to the promise. Whenever an incident like that happens, he loses further hope to be able to help solve drug addiction. Think of not being able to help and will get to the point of no do no more, experiencing this as a failure. Watching someone you love while slowly kills with drugs or alcohol and feel unable to help him, is - in most cases - a traumatic experience, painful and emotionally devastating.
